Confederate patriots surround the square in Franklin during ceremonies held there in honor of those who fell in
the Battle of Franklin.

View of the Franklin Battlefield today. The landscape of sprawling strip malls and other buildings was mostly
an open field in 1864. Our Confederates marched across this open expanse under withering fire from Federal
troops who were entrenched near the tree line that can be seen in the distance.

that our Confederate ancestors marched over in 1864.
